Cheryl Pesce was born and raised in rural south west Arkansas. She graduated from Saratoga High School as her class’s valedictorian.

She went on to earn a degree in Special Education from Henderson State University in 1981. From 1981 to 1985, Cheryl worked on her Master’s in Education and taught third and fourth grade within the Aldine School District in Houston, Texas. In this role, she continued to be an active leader as liaison between teachers within grade levels, and between teachers and the administration.

For the next eight years, Cheryl was a pharmaceutical sales representative with Hoffman La-Roche Labs and Baxter International, two of the largest and international pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies in the industry. This role as a sales rep eventually brought her to Memphis, TN, where she developed relationships and friendships that have endured to this day.

In 1990, Cheryl married Dr. Louis Cunningham, interventional cardiologist. Cheryl and her husband were blessed with a baby girl, Avery Cunningham, who was born extremely ill. Thankfully, Avery recovered and Cheryl co-founded the Mid-South Heart Center with her husband in Jackson, TN and served as its CFO.

From 1994 to 2002, Cheryl was the owner and operator of Sheryl’s Shuttle Inc, a ground transportation provider between Memphis and Nashville, and from the Memphis International Airport to surrounding areas and nation wide. After the success of Sheryl’s Shuttle, Cheryl became a stay-at-home mom and focused on caring for and raising Avery.

As well as founding and managing Sheryl’s Shuttle and raising her daughter, Cheryl sat on many prestigious boards from 1993 to 2015, including: the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, the Regional Hospital of Jackson Board of Trustees, the Regions Bank Board of Directors, the Jackson Symphony Association Board of Directors, the Lambuth University Board of Trustees, the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse Board, and the Miss Tennessee Scholarship Pageant Board of Trustees.

Today, Cheryl’s newest and most renowned business, CHERYL PESCE — a jewelry and life style brand, is growing into a sensation with customers ranging from Memphis to Los Angeles to Paris, France and beyond. CHERYL PESCE is also a Top 100 Finalist for the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest. Her items can be found at high end boutiques and art galleries across the region and in her webstore®, www.cherylpesce.com.

This new path in Cheryl Pesce’s amazing journey serves as a culmination of the many years of leadership, creativity, and ingenuity that have molded her into the woman she is today.
